Position Summary: Operate one or several types of power construction equipment (i.e. forklift, bobcat, compressor, riding-compactor, vehicle for running errands, small water truck, small dump truck and utility truck) to excavate, move and/or grade material. In general, light equipment has a G.V.W. less than 26,000 pounds. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
Essential Functions:
1. Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions. Calculate slopes and grades of materials. Calculate fuel/oil mixtures.
2. Plan, diagram and lay-out for operator's work.
3. Read, understand and apply Operating Manuals, plans and specifications and visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions. Accurately fill out a TIC Daily Equipment Walkaround Report.
4. Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed.
5. Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, and point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
6. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
7. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
8. Observe functioning of equipment to determine hazards and need for adjustments, repair or replacement.
9. Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
10. Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility.
11. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
12. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
13. Operate gasoline, diesel, pneumatic or electric powered equipment to move objects or material according to project specifications. Assemble and operate compressors and pumps; operate levers and pedals on assigned equipment to lower bucket or scoop up material and to lift, swing, or dump material; adjust hand wheels and depress foot pedals to drive machines and control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers and swing booms. Perform light maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines. Document maintenance in logs on assigned equipment.
14. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
15. Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e. back-up alarms, smell of smoke, different colored warning tags, warning sirens).
16. Understand and implement Red Tag procedures relating to equipment in a safe manner.
17. Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.
18. Be motivated and work productively.
19. Perform all other job related duties requested by supervisor.
Secondary Functions:
+ Perform all other actions necessary to accomplish the foregoing essential job functions.
+ Coordinate work with other crafts and co-workers on the job.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Formal Training:
+ Must have working knowledge of the operating limitations and safe work practices associated with the equipment being operated.
+ Must have in his/her possession a TIC Equipment qualification card endorsing unit being operated.
+ Must have a valid driver's license when equipment being operated travels on any public roads.
Working Environment:
+ Ability to work in conditions common to a construction site including but not limited to rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, sun, cold, noise.
+ Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
+ Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift.
Physical Demands:
+ Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
+ Climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
+ Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Possess full range of motion and flexibility.
+ The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
