Job Description
Assists with repairing, servicing, and replacing mechanical plant equipment, and performing mechanical and non-critical welding duties.
Required Skills
This position requires continuous standing; frequent walking, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds; and occasional sitting, bending, climbing, kneeling and crawling. Continuously exposed to dirt and dust; frequently exposed to extreme heat, fumes, chemicals, vibration, and noise; and occasionally to cold, poor ventilation, and electrical risks. The incumbent may be required to work in confined areas and at heights. Finger dexterity, good vision and hearing, and the ability to perform close work are required. Equipment and tools operated include fork lift, crane, hoist, come along, sling, jack hammer, machine cutting tools, drill press, hand tools, saw drill, sander, impact wrench, and hydraulic, pneumatic and measuring tools. The ability to repair equipment under pressure is required, due to time constraints (outages, etc.). This position must be respirator qualified. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
Required Experience
Required:A vocational or technical training/education in industrial mechanic or associated trade plus five years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience; or satisfactory completion of an approved apprentice program for either an industrial mechanic or associated trade with three years industrial mechanical maintenance experience. Must have two years of welding experience, or satisfactory completion of an approved welding program. May be subject to a welding test to prove qualifications. This position may be required to work overtime. Basic computer skills, the ability to read, write, perform arithmetic; ability to analyze data, present information to others, and provide work direction as required. Must have a valid driver s license.
